Cultural Co-operation (CC) is an independent London-based arts and heritage charity. It has an internationally respected track record of innovation and achievement in uniting people through high quality engagement with the world’s cultures.
CC is a small, yet flexible, organisation that creates, manages and delivers long-term programmes and specific projects with funds it raises from statutory and charitable sources.
Activities in 2011/12 include:
- The re-launch of CC’s 10 year-old World City Artist Network, that comprises some 1,000 artists from 80 national & faith communities in 30 London Boroughs.
- Delivery of a major skills training project until December 2012, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, that seeks to increase workforce diversity in the heritage sector.
- Preparations for a major funding bid to launch a new year-round, artist-led Education Programme on citizenship and heritage in schools and museums from September 2012 onwards.
- Preparations for the 2012 World City Music Village and 2014 Sacred City Music Village summer festivals.
The Artist Network is a unique resource created and developed by CC over the last 10 years, with continuous support from scores of volunteers and partner organisations and thanks to occasional grants from trusts and foundations.
The Network’s primary aim is to develop the professional livelihoods of creative practitioners from ethnic and faith communities in London chronically under-represented in the nation’s mainstream cultural life.
Following a recent consultation period, CC has created a revised strategy that seeks to develop the Network’s still largely untapped potential in new ways.
The Artist Network Manager will manage and develop the Artist Network, and implement CC’s new strategy in order to serve the needs of the Network’s members better. This is a full time position, with a salary of £25,000 per annum.
Instructions on how to apply can be found on the Cultural Co-Operation website. For more information please email CC. The application deadline is 12 noon on 20th June 2011. Interviews commence on the 29th June 2011.
