Assistant in the Cultural Department, German Embassy

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in London is seeking a full-time Assistant in the Cultural Department from 1st July 2011.

The role will involve:

  • Planning and implementing cultural projects (including music, film, literature, fashion, design, architecture, art)
  • Assisting in the Embassy’s Olympics 2012 Unit
  • Communication and cultural PR work
  • Promoting German in the British education system (schools, universities)

You must:

  • Be fluent in English and German (English mother-tongue would be an advantage)
  • Have relevant experience and good contacts in one or more of the cultural fields referred to above
  • Be a good team player, organisational talent, able to work under pressure
  • Be flexible and willing to undertake new tasks
  • Have a university degree or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Have lived in the UK (preferably Greater London area) for several years

This is a full time position. The salary will be based on the Embassy’s pay scheme. Starting salary will be ₤2,599 per month, this is initially on the basis of a one-year contract.
