The Contemporary Art Society exists to develop public collections of art in the UK and over a period of 100 years has cultivated support from both private and public to gift over 8,000 works to collections across the UK.
The Development Manager will be responsible for devising and implementing, in close collaboration with and direction from the Senior Management Team, the fundraising strategy from Trusts, Foundations and other public funding sources for the Contemporary Art Society. The postholder will lead specifically on revenue fundraising from Trusts and Foundations and support the Endowment Campaign, and will report on progress against the fundraising strategy.
The postholder will be the central co-ordinator for the preparation of applications to Trusts, Foundations and other public funding bodies and develop and maintain relationships with Trusts and Foundations. In addition the postholder will develop a cultivation strategy in support of the Endowment and prepare the case for support.
The postholder will need to have proven experience of successful fundraising from Trusts and Foundations for a charity, preferably an arts organisation, as well as attention to detail in visual and written communications; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; and excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
