Freelance Singing Teacher, Montage Theatre Arts

MTA is at an exciting stage of development and can now offer a unique opportunity for a part-time freelance singing teacher from September 2011 who is experienced, committed and enthusiastic to become responsible for and develop the singing programme. They are looking to find a tutor for their current Saturday programme at their base in Prendergast Hillyfields College and also for their Glee Week at MTA’s Summer Holiday Programme in August 2011.

You must genuinely enjoy working with children, young people and adults, with relevant teaching experience, preferably in musical theatre and with all these age ranges.

You will have good references with a formal teaching qualification such as a music degree and/or extensive experience in leading workshops and shows, particularly in musical theatre.

Keyboard/piano skills essential (A keyboard is made available to the teacher). MTA are looking for someone who will be able to provide long-term commitement to the company. It is beneficial if you live in south London or within easy reach of Brockley.

Classes must be highly structured for development over the term and the year. Singing classes should develop singing technique and a musical understanding with rhythm, harmony and pitch including group and solo work with warm-up games and exercises as well as working on numbers for the shows, with particular emphasis on musical theatre.
