Production Manager

In August 2011, HighTide will be presenting two productions at Assembly Festival, George Square. Both productions previewed this year at the HighTide Festival. A Production Manager is required to oversee these productions and work with HighTide to deliver a full production at the Edinburgh Festival. This position may suit an individual who is already taking a production to the Edinburgh Festival who is looking for additional projects during that time.

Dates that you will be needed are as follows:

  • Pre-production: 20th June onwards (on a part-time basis)
  • Rehearsals (in London): July 18th – July 30th
  • Travel/Get In: July 31st – August 2nd
  • Performances: August 3rd – September 1st

Please note, the Production Manager will not be required to be in Edinburgh for the duration of the run, only during the first week and at the end of the Festival for the get out.

Productions include:

  • Dusk Rings a Bell by Stephen Belber, 2pm (1hour 20 mins), George One, George Square
  • Midnight Your Time performed by Diana Quick by Adam Brace, 5.20pm (1 hour), George Three, George Square

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • To have overall responsibility for the technical aspects of the two productions.
  • To ensure that repertoire planning is technically feasible and can be achieved within available resources.
  • To manage budgets for production and department expenditure, monitoring progress against budget and ensuring the company receives good value for money.
  • To communicate with the venue as to the requirements of the productions to ensure their smooth running.
  • To assess the requirements of each production, advise on their feasibility and likely resource requirements.
  • To ensure that the requests made by directors and designers are capable of being produced technically.
  • To co-ordinate the activity of creative teams, ensuring they deliver within agreed budgets, time and technical guidelines.
  • To be the lead manager responsible for the implementation of HighTide’s Health and Safety policy.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in AV and working with video
  • Health and Safety experience.
